Introduction to Private Investigation

About this Course

Private Investigators are energetic individuals with an eye for detail and an interest in security.  Both corporations and individuals often call upon private investigators to help them conduct research and perform a variety of detailed investigations. This course prepares students for a career in private investigation, and it offers instruction on a number of fundamental techniques such as problem solving, interviewing skills, research formats, stakeouts, surveillance and more. Students will also be introduced to the tools and equipment used by private investigators. The growing field of cyber forensics will also be discussed.  And students will learn the CT state laws and regulations associated with this field, along with ethical issues of conducting investigations.

CLASS WILL BE HELD ONLINE (LIVE REMOTE/LRON) EXCEPT FOR 11/19 WHICH WILL BE ON CAMPUS IN ROOM W128.
